Object identification
Last updated: July 20, 2023
The process to identify an object uniquely in
AssetWise. It includes:
- Allocating a prime identifier to the object.
- Allocating descriptive and control attribute values to the object.
- Allocating cross-references to the object, if required.
- Creating horizontal relationships from the identified object to other objects to describe the configuration of the object, if required.
- Creating vertical relationships from the identified object to other identified objects to describe its association with such objects, if required.
- Creating links from the identified object to other identified objects to describe its association with such objects, if required.
Object identification must be done in such a way that the object is uniquely identifiable, and so that users can interpret and apply the object's associated data and relationships for a specific use.
